Coach Leanda
Leanda started her fitness journey back in January 2023.
She wasn’t new to fitness, but had spent most of her life doing mostly cardio-based activities, hoping it would help her get the physique she wanted.
After an injury put her out of martial arts in 2022, she had put on excess weight due to lack of movement. Her physical therapist encouraged her to focus on strength training to repair the injury, and that’s when her focus shifted from cardio to strength based training.
Leanda always thought the key was eating less and doing lots of cardio to achieve sustainable weight loss.
She found Phoenix Transformations in the summer of 2023 and won a partial scholarship to work with Coach Brittany to focus on muscle growth, increasing her calories, and learning how to improve her relationship with food.
This process encouraged Leanda to learn more about nutrition and health, so she became certified as an NASM nutrition coach. She also completed her first WBFF fitness competition in April 2024.
Leanda loves working with women and teaching them how to practically improve their relationship with food, find a sustainable and practical approach to fat loss, find confidence in building muscle and strength, and debunking all the “old school thoughts” about women and health.
